DREAM: BECAUSE THIS WORLD BELONGS TO DREAMERS

by Kumar Rahul

Dreams! Our beautiful dreams! we have no control in the world of dreams. Sometimes, we see our loved ones in a dream. Or some times the dreams become our nightmare; they make us get up in the middle of the night and we are forced to say "What a horrible dream it was". But in this article, I will not talk about such dreams, but I will talk about the dreams, which are really ours, on which we have got full control. The dreams which are not made in nowhere, but are our creations, and in turn we are also creations of our own dreams.

This world belongs to dreamers. Throughout the history, the dreamers have won. The dreamers are able to set up great organizations, start great businesses, and achieve what others don’t even dream of. While in interviews, we are often asked "What is your ultimate dream?" Now you must have understood, that I am talking about dreams, which are the real creators of new ideas. You can assess a person by assessing the quality of his dreams.

In a dictionary, dream is defined as

dream  n. 1 series of scenes or feelings in the mind of a sleeping person. 2 day-dream or fantasy. 3 ideal, aspiration. 4 beautiful or ideal person or thing. —v. (past and past part. dreamt or dreamed) 1 experience a dream. 2 imagine as in a dream. 3 (with neg.) consider possible 4 (foll. by away) waste (time). 5 be inactive or unpractical.

On one hand it is fantasy, and on the other hand it is the ideal, or aspiration. So when I say "This world belongs to dreamers", I also suggest you to watch your dreams, because the quality of your dream determines the quality you will achieve as a human being.

History belongs to dreamers. Dreams have the power to change the world. All people who are shaping world history today had big dreams when they were young. Dreams often make the person. They control his personality, manner of working and destiny. Often a person without dreams has chances of losing his direction.

Sometimes our dreams come true without much effort, or without any effort at all. If you believe in God, and your dream has come true, then know that a  dream come true is a prayer answered from God.

Dream big

Bill Gates, had a dream, to see a computer on every desk, in every office, across the world. And in order to fulfill that dream, he created a company, which made him the richest person in the world. If he would have dreamt anything smaller than that, he might have achieved something smaller too. So, the higher is our dream, the higher we shall go. Dream big dreams !

Believe in your Dream

All great scientists had some dream or the other. Edison dreamt of making an electric bulb, so he went on to test materials for the filament. He failed hundreds of times, but since he had tough belief on his dream, he went through the tough time, and got the right material Tungsten. So, to have an intense belief in your dream will help you to get through the tough time and make your dream true.

Remember: Every Big Dream has a Small Beginning. Small bricks make a giant building. A rope of jute makes impressions on the rock. Small is big and big is small. If you dream of becoming a millionaire, start from a single buck. And make it grow.

Plan and act to Fulfill Your Dream

It is very necessary to plan. Plan to make your dream come reality. If your dream is to become a great pianist, then planning, the sufficient number of hours for practice, arrange for a trainer, etc will help.  If your dream is to loose 10 kg of weight, reading how to so this, learning others' experience, monitoring your diet, etc will help. A good planning helps to accomplish something that was impossible yesterday!

The dreams you seek often require courage and risk-taking. Learn from the turtle --it only makes progress when it sticks out its neck. Don’t hesitate; go for your dream. Imagine that you have no limitations and then decide what’s right before you decide what’s possible.

Act with a sense of urgency:

There should be a sense of urgency in fulfilling your dream. Until you are involved in fulfilling one dream, there are no good chances that another fabulous dream strikes you. And it is all-right if you are trying to make more than one dreams come true. In this regard, inertia, mental and physical, is your greatest enemy. Thwart the inertia and get set go!

Try again

Your dream may seem impossible at first. In this case, consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.

Is this dream OK?

How to decide whether, this is a dream or not? Or, how to decide whether this one is worth being fulfilled or not? In this regard, being somewhat practical helps. See, if that dream is clashing with your any other dream, or aspirations of any other of your friend. Your dreams should not be in the way of your promotion, should not pose threat to health of yours and your loved-ones. Live out your dream, but don’t let your dream live your life.

Even if a dream is threatening, you can postpone it till it becomes evidently possible. Being "Feasible", is always in the reference frame of time. What is not feasible today, may become feasible tomorrow. Everything, including circumstances is changing.  But, if you are someone who doesn't believe in postponement, and act instantly, take care.

Dreams, and a plenty of them.

There is no limit to dreaming. You can dream to become an Olympic winner, or learn swimming, or becoming topper of your batch, or getting one appraisal every year, or whatever you want. Remember that your dreams are shaping your future. You will be, what you dream to be!

Remember

Remember someone saying “DREAM WHAT YOU WANT TO DREAM, GO WHERE YOU WANT TO GO, BE WHAT YOU WANT TO BE, BECAUSE YOU HAVE ONLY ONE LIFE AND ONE CHANCE TO DO ALL THE THINGS YOU WANT TO DO.”

So, make your dreams come true. Wishing you sweet dreams…
