The most things that are being paid attention to right now are problems that will emerge throughout the future. One is concern for Earth's natural resources. Right now, there is a very large human population. As humans evolve and grow, other living things suffer and die. More humans are born every day and more room is needed for homes, factories, shopping centers, etc. Land has to be cleared out, where wildlife may live in. They will then not have a home and will soon die out. Already many species have been wiped out or or have become extinct from human colonization. Also many of Earth's natural resources are being used up. Only about a few hundred years ago did our Earth have almost infinite resources. We know now that this certainly isn't the case. Resources are being used much faster than nature can replace them. Scientists have predicted that it will take millions of years for fossil fuels to form again. We may use all of it up in about 40 years!
We are not trying to stop humans from multiplying. We must do so, or we will die out. Also we shouldn't grow and thrive at the expense of other types of wildlife. I predict that we humans will soon go above and beyond. What I mean is that we will build colonies in space with space stations, or on planets and moons in special colonies. Up in space, there is no wildlife to disturb, so we can continue to live without having other types of life suffer. The downsides I see of this is that this will cost an incredible sum of money and may take quite a long time of research to come up with an efficient design for spacestations, etc. I think it is well worth the investment. I really think this should be done soon, before we wipe out all other life and when we will be the only type of life on Earth. This would certainly be boring and dreadful!
I also think the world will be a lot more technologically saavy. Just recently has technology been creeping into our lives and is doing so at such a fast pace that it may frighten some. For example, 100,000 web pages are added unto the Internet everyday along with the 5 billion already on! It has taken only about 10 years to do this! In 1950, the first computer took up a whole room. Now, computers can be fit unto a watch! The world will certainly gain a lot from technology and will probably be the fastest evolving and changing aspect of our lives, especially with computer technology. Technology offers a lot, from entertainment to speeding up household chores. Today, we can wash dishes quicker, play computer games for entertainment, help the deaf with special hearing aids, grow food with less farmland etc. Technology has helped us in many ways and will continue to do so in the future. Who knows what new technology could come up in the near future? There is already a lawnmower that can mow your lawn for you! I'm guessing that as early as 20 years from now, robots may possess human-like abilities, such as having feelings and emotions. Cloning has just recently been discovered. It really seems as though the advancement of technology will never cease!
Finally, I would like to express my thoughts and ideas about life on other planets. For decades, people have wondered if there is life out there. The universe as we know is huge. The Solar System is at least 10 million miles wide. There are millions of solar systems in a galaxy. Our solar system is located in the Milky Way Galaxy. There are also millions of galaxies in the universe. Each solar system has billons of stars! It seems as though the universe almost has no end in terms of size and depth! There must surely be life out there in this almost infinite universe. It really seems silly as if we are the only life on just one planet in the entire universe which can have trillions of planets. Scientists have already tried to contact aliens with radio waves, sending messages that try to be as easy to understand as possible. Let us just hope that if we do come across other forms of life, that they are friendly. We have already wiped out many species of animals and such to gain more land for colonization and such. Let us hope some alien race doesn't come along to destroy us all just to colonize our planet. Well, at least we would know how all the forms of life feel when we destroy their habitats and such!
