I’ve learned much from D.A.V. Sanskriti School in Houston in the almost two years of my study at this school. While I’ve learned basic rules in life from my parents and past experiences, it is in this school that I have learned true Vedic values. I have also gained a newfound pride in the origins of these values in the Holy Vedas, the source of all Hindu beliefs and traditions that we possess today.
Of course, learning these important values is one thing, fully applying them to one’s own life is another, a goal I hope to accomplish some time in my life. The one value I can most closely associate with and try to do first is to spread knowledge and basic values to anyone I can. Being a lover of true knowledge, I hope to be a great source of wisdom to all who are interested.
Next would be the practice of truth, and the rejection of falsehood. Not having achieved this goal yet, I continue to hope that the truths will be encouraged in the world over lies, and that I can be a part of that process.
Finally, the D.A.V. Sanskriti School has shown me that I must treat my parents with the respect that they deserve. I've always behaved to my parents, but I have never truly thanked them for their love and affection and the time they have spent raising me as their son. Although my parents already know that I love them, I want to show my love for them in the future, perhaps as their caretaker when they are old.
As a student of Arya Samaj D.A.V. Sanskriti School, I still do not know all that I need to live a Vedic-centered life. Hopefully, as I grow and mature, I will learn more from its teachings and how to apply all of its values into my life.
